Poorest Quality Ever! I usually only give positive reviews because I prefer to settle issues with businesses directly as compromises can usually be reached. However, this manufacturer not only produces poor quality but they do not stand behind their work. Do not be fooled by their warranty as we were as it is “at their discretion.” The hand-wiped glazing is horrible and does not match what’s pictured on their site. Please see pictures of quality of glaze on most of our drawers or doors. The drawers themselves are the worst craftmanship and we’ve had to “reglue” where the bottom edges of the dovetails just came off. See picture of door that was delivered (none of the boxes were damaged). Many of the glide attachments do not hold. On our prior home we ordered cabinets from Lowe’s and they were far, far better quality which is sad because this cabinetry was not cheap.

WORST cabinetry I have ever dealt with. The paint finish chips extremely easily, packing material causes "scuffs" to the finish in places. The rep came out but it took over 4 months to get some replacement doors, but they were just as bad in their finish and quality. Communication was horrible. I wouldn't suggest this company to anyone. Buyer beware--- they have what is called "tolerance"--- which basically means that there is a certain amount of tolerance/ poor quality that they allow BEFORE you can get any type of replacement or satisfaction. HORRIBLE!!!! They should be ashamed of themselves.

I ordered cabinetry on November 2nd and was guaranteed by the rep from Wellborn that my cabinets would be delivered on December 20th. I tore out my kitchen and had everything ready for the new cabinets in time for Christmas Dinner. On December 20th they informed me that they shut the trucks down until January. I had no kitchen for dinner. My son was on leave from the Marines. I had to "borrow" a kitchen at another house. I still do not have my cabinets. The rep will not speak to me. I was told to bad things happen. They are not interested in any type of discount or refund. I have other cabinets that need to be done but i will not use them!

I had never read reviews about these cabinets until now and am surprised so to see negative comments. I absolutely love my Wellborn cabinets. We've had them installed for over a year now and they still look and feel brand new. We went with all top of the line options they had. We installed a motor on the trash cabinet and it pops open with a tap.

Cabinets pealed in the first month of being installed. They blamed it on humidity All the corners had this very small crack that turned into a big flake. They looked terrible after just 1 year. Manufacturer replaced a few not all that were chipping at their discretion. Problem they had a slight color difference.
What a joke would not buy these cabinets. Been trying to get them replaced company refuse to speak to me. At one point said they would replace fronts but not ends of cabinets. Management is as bad as the cabinets.

BUYER BEWARE OF WELLBORN CABINETRY!
The Wellborn cabinets delivered to my husband and I are of the poorest workmanship and quality! We are extremely disappointed with this product.
After we opened and inspected every box we were shocked to see the cabinets sent to us are nothing like those seen in the dealers showroom, their cabinet display samples and in Wellborn's product brochure. The cabinets have gaps in the backs, splits in the wood, loose staples, (can't believe staples were even used, not one nail), cheap plastic parts and plastic shelving supports ready to fall out which have split all the way through the cabinets sides. Thick brown paint in a patchy pattern was applied rather than the antiqued look we chose. We specifically asked the dealer for dovetailed drawers and solid wood boxes, the drawers have flat ends sloppily glued together. There obviously was no quality control inspection either by the manufacturer or the dealer, we discovered the mess. Our contractors said the cabinets could not be installed, there are no words! This list could go on, the photos speak for themselves! We did get a refund from the dealer, unfortunately however that was exhausting as we were treated so poorly.

STAY AWAY WE HAVE TERMITS THAT WERE BROUGHT IN WITH THE CABINETS. I had and paid for a WDO inspection done by 2 companys I also had 3 pest control companys concure that the termites were in the cabinets. I reached out to wellborn for a little help on treeting the cabinets. and they pretty much told me to pound salt. the called the CEO and he never called back I was not looking for alot just help on paying for the treetment since I paid over 20k for the cabnets.

In May of 2020 we spent over $60,000.00 on new cabinets & cupboards. The stain is uneven & there is no uniformity with any of the cabinets and cupboards. We were shipped some cabinets that had been damaged at the factory & were stapled together. Did they think we wouldn't notice? Here it is the end of May 2022 and we’re still waiting on the rest of our cabinetry.

The company as a hole is unhelpful and unreliable. I purchased my cabinets and it took them 8 months to get filled. Not because of the pandemic but the rep told me that since the company that I got my cabinets from did not due a high volume with them that they pushed our order back to get their high volume companies taken care of. I am still waiting on replacement doors and drawers from them because what they send us is worse then the originals.

We started our kitchen remodel in Nov 2020 thinking this would be finished in 3-4 months and after more than a year later, the dealer just finished only after I retained a lawyer. Wellborn is awful to deal with. Delay after delay in getting my order. Of course, my dealer needs to share the blame since she can’t read a tape measure. I contacted Wellborn customer service twice, and she was no help. I also agree the finish is nothing like the floor sample. The finish on my cabinets is dull, cheap and stains. I went with Premier Hanover and the quality is not what I expected.

Ordered $100K full kitchen of cabinets from Wellborn- partly because their quality is good and delivery time (within USA) acceptable. All units installed and working well EXCEPT the dishwasher panel that was ordered a bit later than the rest. STILL WAITING AFTER 4 months and panel not yet EVEN MADE, much less delivered! I cannot recommend this company because of this poor service.

worst customer experience i have ever dealt with, cabinets are discoloring and seperating. they sent a rep out (7 months ago) and we keep hounding them to get support - then they keep sending the warranty form to be filled out over and over again - STAY FAR AWAY FROM WELLBORN

I don't like them. They seem really cheap. They always look dirty. Dull finish in my book. And who doesn't put door handles on cabinets!? Our mistake having not asked that question during the purchase process. We must touch the cabinet doors to open/close them, even when my hands are clean it seems that the natural oils in your hands leave a mark. Not happy with them and would never purchase this cabinet, ready to get rid of them and the house is only a year old.

We purchased an entire kitchen through a local company who ordered our cabinets from WELLBORN - all but one cabinet arrived damaged in some way. The craftsmanship is horrible. Not sure how anyone who knows anything about cabinets can vouch for this company level of craftsmanship. Guess they pay for good reviews

If you're looking for that dream kitchen, may I suggest staying far away from Wellborn cabinets. We purchased, or so we thought, the Estate series in a cherry finish with Milan door/drawer style. After installation, we immediately were upset with the really dull finish and the horrible banding (edging) on our slab doors and drawers. The overall quality of the cabinets was a concern as well. We also had numerous scratches and "cardboard rub" and were told by our general contractor not to worry, all damaged doors/ drawers will be replaced....

Our "Estate" line actually consisted of mostly the Select/ Premier line of base cabinets with standard MDF and furniture board (fancy cardboard) construction and a few were a nicer plywood construction. We definitely had a Premier upgrade which included soft close and full extension drawers. The only actual Estate part was considered the door/ drawer Milan and the few all plywood cabinets. Clear as mud.

After numerous delays due to Covid-19, Wellborn and the vendor did finally agree to send a "cabinet expert" to fix any issues. Instead he made every door/ drawer he tried to fix worse by using an obnoxious smelling gloss spray and crayon. After that mess, an account manager from Wellborn agreed to come to our home but was not helpful either. She was very defensive and kept saying that everything was normal and within Wellborn's tolerance. She actually blamed us for installing new recess lighting and said that was the reason why all the upper cabinet door's finish looked a bit sloppy... Right. She did obnoxiously offer only 3 replacement doors at no charge.

At this point, only our general contractor and the vendor agreed that Wellborn did a horrible job with the banding on the slab doors/ drawers and overall finish. Both also agreed that they would never order or recommend a "slab" look for another customer from Wellborn. Desperate, we decided to order a more standard shaker style cabinet door in Prairie. The vendor agreed to give us all replacement doors/ drawers at cost because Wellborn wasn't offering any real solutions to all the problems.

After a few weeks we received a sample door that was supposedly personally QC checked from Wellborn. The door looked horrible. No way were we giving Wellborn one more penny. We had no choice but to get these cabinets out of our house as fast as possible. We tried selling them and though each kitchen layout is unique, every potential buyer thought they looked horrible in person. We eventually just took a huge loss and decided to donate everything to Habitat for Humanity. Unfortunately, I would NOT recommend Wellborn cabinets with their builder grade quality and terrible customer service for your kitchen.

For some reason this review site does not list Wellborn Forest Products as a Cabinet Company you can review. Many times people make complaints about Wellborn Forest products on this page which is supposed to be about Wellborn Cabinet, Inc. in error. Totally not the users fault.

Not very good, at all. The maple cabinets (painted arctic white) look good, but they don't work well, at all. I am very, very disappointed. After having Kraftmaid cabinets at our house in Florida, I was hoping for the same quality. Nope. They can't compare to Kraftmaid. If I had known, I would have paid the extra to get much, much better quality. The lower, large pantry doors came with several dings and scratches. At least 5 of the cabinet drawers had gouges and large indentations, and the doors above the fridge had several dings. To top it all off, the slow close hardware stinks. Nothing glides like it should. The Kraftmaid would just glide beautifully after you gently pushed the drawers. The Wellborn Forest cabinets wiggle as soon as you push them gently, and they hardly move. You have to push the drawers up to the point where the slow close mechanism takes over, which is basically pushing them shut yourself. That's just unacceptable. Even though they cost less than Kraftmaid, they still were not cheap. I insisted on American made cabinets and this is what I get. As I said before, I am very, very disappointed. I would recommend spending the extra money and getting a better American made product, certainly not Wellborn Forest.

We are a Design-Build remodeling company. We became a Wellborn dealer 7 years ago. Most of the kitchens are designed in the Premier or Estate lines of cabinets. Wellborn presents as and we consider their cabinets to be "furniture". Boxes are of solid construction. Doors and drawer fronts - what matters the most, and the finishes are beautiful. Mistakes or damages are rare and often the outcome of a mis-order on our part. We have no need to use any other manufacturer. There is a style and price point for every job or customer. Made in America, available to us in 3 -4 weeks; we have cut in half the typical time it takes to remodel a kitchen. We and our customers LOVE these cabinets.

I purchased a complete kitchen from Wellborn and had issues with damaged cabinets from the factory. One of the cabinets was substituted for a different cabinet because Wellborn did not want to pay high tariffs for items received from china. All sales literature published in hard copy and on their website shows the cabinet I purchased, but they felt it was appropriate to substitute the cabinet with another to save the company money. I thought this was a family owned company. I'm glad they care more about their family then mine. The customer service is only there to abide the companies best interest. Not the customers, think twice before you use this company.

I have been in architectural and interior design for over 40 years and have never seen such a horrible finish on wood at any quality level. Wellborn Forest chose not to honor their warranty. Their claim is the finish compares to other cabinets they have done and the finish is within their standards. Our builder and cabinet contractor were nice enough to provide and pay for materials and labor to refinish all cabinets throughout our new house. If you choose to order from Wellborn ask for a complete cabinet mockup to be delivered to your site for approval, and to establish a minimum standard for all cabinets used on your project.

When you're standing at the bottom of the barrel of craftsmanship, quality and customer service...look down and you'll see the Wellborn Company. Right away my cabinets began to degrade, the color deteriorated, and the drawers actually made noise opening and closing because they warped! The only thing worse than the cabinets was the absolute lack of customer service. Before purchasing any Wellborn product do your homework. What they lack in quality; they attempt to make up for with lack of customer service.

The cabinets are beautiful however buyer beware on off-white cabinets. Blue stains started coming through. Had several replaced. Now Wellborn is saying is is a user issue and not their paint however neighbors with the same cabinets who cook very frequently never have blue streaks. Several other neighbors who built like myself in 2015 or after got the blue streaks and now the supplier is claiming it is not their issue.

Note:
Cabinets purchased prior to 2015 in off-white are not having these issues.

I'm just having a Wellborn Belmont kitchen installed and although I really don't know about most of the things this review wants, I can say that the finish isn't consistently good. There are already marks in some places and they don't seem to want to come off, there are some "dents" that seems to have been there before the cabinets were painted, and the paint doesn't consistently cover expected areas.

However, my bigger issue with the Belmont kitchen is the drawers. The top drawers (flatware drawers, etc) are much too small for a panel. I'm unable to use the bin pulls that I want to use because they won't fit in that uber-tiny panel. In fact, I'm limited to what pulls I can use since a regular round pull is too bulky to get my fingers around (I'm a 5'4" 120 lb woman, so I don't have large hands) so I'd have to go with a football shaped pull that kind of gets lost in the face of the drawer if I only use one. If I use 2, that throws off the balance rest of the drawers below unless I use 2 bin pulls unnecessarily, which would look much too busy. So I'm stuck with a c-shaped handle. Even when using a pull that will fit, my fingers still have a hard time hitting the mark and my nails hit the bottom rail of the panel. This is a bafflingly poor design. I have been told by Wellborn that there is an option for a slab front for the top drawers, but that option was not presented to me and neither was the fact that the top drawers would change the entire look of my kitchen since I can't user the hardware I want to use.

In my opinion, after the Wellborn craftsmen made the first of these drawers, they should have seen that it is not easily functional, as a kitchen drawer that holds things people use with every meal should be. That first drawer should have been put in their company "Museum of Bad Ideas" and thereafter every drawer of that size should have been made with a slab front. The default drawer for this kitchen should be the one that functions well. If people buying this kitchen want a less useful drawer, they should be presented with said drawer as the option.

Till now I haven't got any negative feedback from any of my customers who bought wellborn.

My house was built in 1988 and had Wellborn cabinets installed. They are still used every day and have never had an issue. If anything, they'er too good. I'd like to mabey update my kitchen, but can't justify tearing them out.

We are a custom cabinetry shop that also sells the Wellborn brand of cabinets. Wellborn cabinets fill a gap in our business because they offer many painted and glazed finishes that we currently do not. We have always been pleased with the quality and service provided from Wellborn Cabinet. We are also proud to be a dealer for them considering their products are made in America. We have no complaints about the quality of Wellborn products.

Wellborn offers several different cabinet lines at different price points, ranging from contractor-grade cabinets up to high-end inset semi-custom cabinetry, so there are many, many options to fit most any budget. We install the cabinets and have been very please with the quality of construction, the finishes, and the durability of the cabinets. More importantly, our customers have been very happy with their new kitchens after the cabinets are installed!! We recommend Wellborn cabinets.

I work for a company that sells this brand and when we decided to redo our kitchen at home I was more then happy to go with Wellborn. Our kitchen looks AMAZING. We are very happy with the cabinets we find them very well made and the finish looks Great. I am not just saying this because we sell them they are truly great cabinets and wouldn't hesitate to redo any kitchen with these cabinets.

after 6 years of having the cabinets installed, three of the doors of the cabinet have warped slightly. Also, now after having the mission style cabinets, they rattle when you close the doors.

Wellborn Cabinets are junk. We have a "luxury/upscale" $1M condo Dupont Circle, 1 mile from White House. Developer installed cabinets in 2006. We moved in Mar 2007. We've already had several fronts replaced because of peeling paint. Now it's happening 2nd time & worse -- even on panels that were replaced!

Documentation says cabinets have "limited life-time" warranty. Wellborn blames us & says they're water damaged, which is nonsense. We've had their local rep and Wellborn reps out twice now trying to figure out what to do. Re second problems, first they said they'd replace 6 fronts but the rest we'd need to pay for ourselves. Next they went quiet/dropped the ball. Then it seemed as though they were reneging & we'd have to pay for all door replacements. Just had the second visit. Regardless, we are very meticulous people. 3.5 year-old cabinets should not be peeling paint. Wellborn claims to have a "limited life-time" warranty. Not sure what they're going to do yet but we're extremely unhappy.

I bought Wellborn two years back and I am very satisfied with it. My KD suggested this cabinets to me. He has been using it for the last 30 years. Price is little higher than many other mid range products, but worth for the money.
