Aristokraft is one of 12 great cabinet brands in the MasterBrand Cabinets Inc. family.
Aristokraft cabinets are manufactured by Masterbrand. It is one of many brands that they sell and is one of their more affordable brands. They have a professional line that is less expensive and in their consumer line they offer plenty of choices of wood and finishes.
Don't buy these cabinets
I have a bathroom linen closet and vanity. Thought I would never need to replace. Poor quality shelves keep falling down in closet and finish ruined exposing what appears to be cardboard. The vanity has only one drawer out of six not broken. The corners have split on both pieces.
I expected better.
I paid a lot of money for just four Aristokraft Nantucket cabinets. I thought I was buying better than big box brands sold at Lowes and Home Depot.
They are not better. Particle board sides and structural supports. Plastic rollers for drawer slides instead of ball bearing extension slides. The original cabinets in my condo were made in '78 and even those have ball bearing slides. These slides are something you'd find at Walmart for $5.
I paid nearly twice the price of Home Depot cabinets, and got the same quality.
I am very happy with the cabinets. I have no issues at all and they were at a very good price! Would reccomend
I recently purchased a home from Dan Ryan Builders who have selected Aristokraft Cabinetry to be installed in the new homes. These homes are located in Cane Bay Plantation, Summerville, SC and are not entry level homes.
After a week of living in the new home I noticed a black bumper pad that fell off one of my cabinet doors that reveled an unfinished extra drill hole. After I started inspecting all the cabinet doors I found extra unfinished drill holes in all my cabinet doors except one. I then had the install company come out to inspect the extra drill holes in all my new cabinet doors. They explained this is how they come from the manufacture and there SOP has them put Styrofoam bumpers over the holes to cover them up. Then they asked if I wanted new bumpers to put over the holes, and I replied NO and said I do not want extra drill holes in my new cabinet doors. I told the Rep the holes makes these cabinets look like second rate clearance rack items that are being put in homes that are not entry level.
I then contacted the company trying to find answers and their response was:
"Dear Mr. XXXXX,
Thank you for writing to us with your question. We do drill small holes on the inside of the doors and drawer fronts so we can hang them to be sprayed with finish in the manufacturing process. Those holes are then covered with bumper pads. We would be happy to send you extra bumper pads if yours are not adhering properly to your doors. Please let us know if you would like a package of bumper pads. We hope this answers your question.
Thanks again for writing to us and have a great day!
Customer Service Specialist
I was baffled by the response and highly disappointed that their quality control team, and production manager have not thought outside the box in coming up with a more efficient way to give the consumer the best product possible without ruining the integrity of the cabinets. I know they can be finished without extra drill holes because I have one cabinet door that has no extra drill hole and their response was:
We truly apologize that you are less than satisfied with our product. To answer your question as to why some of your doors have shallow drill holes and some do not, it depends on how the door is hung during the finish process. To finish well over 25,000 doors and drawer fronts each day we must utilize the most efficient methods to do so. Aristokraft is a mass produced, stock product. It is not a custom or even semi-custom product line. Aristokraft is a durable, fashionable, but yet affordable, stock product. Dan Ryan Builders is a reputable home builder so we believe they must have good luck with our product to offer it in their not so "entry level" homes. Again, we apologize for your dissatisfaction. If you would like a package of door bumpers to cover up the drill holes in your doors, as they were meant to do, let us know and we would be happy to send them to you.
So when I say beware I mean beware. They don't care about giving the consumer quality they just care about mass producing the products in quantity, and you get what you get. I would not recommend this line to anyone unless you want cabinetry that looks like a second rate clearance rack item when you open your cabinet doors. I would suggest you do your research and find a company that has better customer service, and a company that cares about giving the consumer a great quality product without jeopardizing its integrity. The response from the Aristokraft customer service rep clearly paints the image of this company of one that only cares about mass production and the bottom line dollar, and not giving the consumer quality products. It truly is a shame.
Terrible quality control
Our kitchen remodel was delayed by weeks when Aristokraft was unable to give us a shipping date. The holes on the sides of the cabinets do not match up - meaning the shelves tilt from one side to the next by up to one inch. The base cabinet shelves have rough splintered edges. Drawer facings are stapled together. The lazy Susan stopped moving and now grinds after less than one week. The retail store is trying to help with the problems but apparently AristoKraft does not care about it's customers. The cabinets were to be replaced and the order was lost. A second order was shipped to the wrong state. Two months after contacting Aristokraft our problem has not been resolved. We paid for quality cabinets and these are cheap and there is no customer support and concern. I expected this company to have some quality control. Even the doors on the cabinets are cut at different lengths with up to half-inch difference - who is minding the shop? I have never written a negative review but I had to speak up. Let me end this on a high note. The glossy catalog looks nice.
Cabinets cracking and paint chipping in just three years
I have these cabinets in a 4,500 sq ft home. After just six years we are going to have to replace the cabinets. They are chipping, flaking and cracking. I would not recommend this brand to anyone.
Still looking good after all the years
I have 26 year old aristokraft cabinets in my kitchen and have never had a problem with them. The doors, drawers and boxes all look good (no issues with the finish) and function as they should. Maybe the cabinets built back in the 80s are better quality than the ones available today....or I just lucked out...
Purchased a 10 year old home, and the cabinets are all falling apart. The "paper" finish on all the cabinets is coming off showing the cheap wood behind. Cabinets should last more than 10 years without failing apart.
I agree DO NOT BUY!!:(
Very poorly made product. I ordered 2 vanities and 1 tall cabinet . Each piece delivered had either a warped door or creaked side. I wish I had research more carefully before I purchased. To reorder same sizes vanities another waiting time of 3 weeks before delivery . Not happy.... anyone considering this product should do plenty of research before selection. I wish I had!! :(
I love their style but not the workmanship or customer service. I agree with the customer that started DON'T BUY I would say the same Do Not Buy this product!
We were told aristokraft was a great company that stands behind there product. NOT true!! We remodled our kitchen and bought their white painted maple doors. Out of the box were broken cabinet bottoms, door edges that were scuffed, a hinge that did adjust properly, not to mention the black marks on drawer edges. But the thing that really disheartened us was the mitered joints on the doors. Almost every door had inconsistent joint...that is the line of the joint starts and then looks like it was filled in and then continues...very shoddy workmanship. Had the factory rep came out here and eric tried to tell me that this is normal...that wood doors expand and contract and what I was seeing is the result of this expansion ..oh by the way there is a disclaimer for painted doors. I've painted and worked with wood for 40 odd years. This is an application problem, not and expansion problem..he later told me aristocrap have been doing painted doors for two years...keep trying. VERY UPSET AND DISAPPOINTED I give it a don't buy
My kitchen was redone almost two years and the durabily is horrible , cabinets are chipping ,I WOULD NOt RECOMENDEM .
Aristokraft - Awful Durability
We purchased a new home that had installed these Aristokraft cabinets, they are now 5 years old and look like they are over 20 years old. The finish is wearing on almost every drawer. Even drawers and doors that are rarely used have wear marks on them by the pulls and knobs. The cabinet shelves and drawer glides are all working just fine but the finish is extremely flimsy and they look awful already. We have the cherry cabinets in the cognac finish andd are extremely disappointed. In order to extend the life of the kitchen somewhat, we had quoted just getting new drawer faces and doors but it is so expensive to just replace the faces that we are going to put the money into a new kitchen remodel in a few years. We will most definitely not be putting in these cabinets again. If you are considering these cabinets I would strongly reconsider...
