Yorktowne is no longer a family owned company. It’s a bit confusing, are they part of ACPI or Cabinetworks group? My husband and I are developers, having spent nearly $3M to develop a custom luxury property with the intent to sell within two years. While sourcing cabinets we were talked into Yorktowne by a Yorktowne Seller, Hughes Prosource, aka: Cabinet Outlet, in Venice Florida who it turns out had never actually worked with the line and was not trained on the line. The number of mistakes is beyond acceptable but more so, the quality of Yorktowne is shocking and embarrassing and does not match the money you pay for them. An inexcusable amount of cabinets arrived with either damage or such poor quality workmanship we could tell originated from the factory that the items should have never shipped. A large majority of cabinets to be the same color finish were a range of tones, not a consistent color. Cabinets were sent with missing parts, not complete in the finish and several cabinets actually had snot with chunks and nostril hairs smeared on them, true story! An insult and a disgrace. The problems were so great that we insisted the Yorktowne rep get involved, which made it worse. The Seller told us the rep was involved with the order the entire process, however the rep said she had no knowledge of the order until she was notified of our issues. The rep came onsite and then met a second time to remedy the issues and from there Yorktowne began to warranty cabinets by sending out damaged or wrong replacements. It got to the point that Cabinetworks Group had to send their regional manager onsite to see what was going on. On that visit the regional manager said “Cabinetworks is the Walmart of cabinets”, something that did not sit well with us. It seemed like an excuse for the poor quality and incompetence of everyone involved. Furthermore, their Seller, Hughes Prosource, owner Michael Hughes is a cabinet con man who it turns out changes his business name every several years likely to cover his sins. He told us our cabinets being warrantied are required to be shipped back to Yorktowne and he showed up to our construction site and stole the cabinets that he has never replaced and refuses to replace. As of now he is in possession of approximately $60k in cabinets we paid for but do not have. He was dumb enough to take a photo of them in a non-conditioned uhaul style trailer and send it to our lawyer. Proof of his possession! This Sellers Disaster Designer, Karen Creglow also informed us of the following when I asked what they do if we pay cash for the balance: they adjust the orders to remove any amount paid for in cash because they don’t claim cash transactions. They have done this as long as she’s been employed and the owner, Michael Hughes gives her a cut. So basically this cabinet seller for Yorktowne is engaging on tax fraud also! As of this review, we have gone elsewhere, setting up a contractor account, to order the cabinets at the proper cost we should have paid for starters, however, still paying twice now, and to receive the cabinets Yorktowne and their Seller refuse to fix. Lawyers are involved and Cabinetworks Group, being the billion dollar company they are seems to be delusional about what they owe, what they are responsible for and they just flat out do not care. They believe they have created just enough distance between them and the end user through their "Sellers" and they are too big and too rich to have to care. We have since gone back and read an overwhelming number of awful reviews on the Yorktowne cabinets for quality and warranty that we wish we would have found prior to being talked into this brand. They are way overpriced, poor quality and an awful brand to work with. I would recommend running from being conned into giving your money to Yorktowne or any of the Cabinetworks Group or ACPI cabinet brands. Fortunately, we are able to waste money that we should not have to spend twice but most people do not have that ability. I would not want to see someone else be taken like we were. If any authorized Seller of Yorktowne tells you they are past these issues, they are lying. The Minnesota plant has struggled with workers and quality for quite some time, it turns out. Having come from Minnesota I can only imagine governor Walz has some nonsense agenda or programs to enhance his support and they are sourcing migrant workers who have no clue what they are doing! The company is a disgrace and any Seller who stands by them is just out for their own pocket profit.
