Wish we had seen these reviews before we ordered our cabinets. This seems to be an ongoing problem with KraftMaid for the past several years!

As a 20 year designer with Wellborn I can guarantee you did not receive a substituted cabinets from Wellborn......and definately not because of high tariffs from China. This review is not 100% correct

I ordered cabinets from American woodmark back in October 2019 it is March 2020 we still don’t have a settlement because all our cabinets were damaged uneven the stain was awe full and they keep dodging our calls and emails. I don’t know if they changed management or fired their quality control or if everyone that works there took up drinking???? But we ordered around the same time and I had the same terrible experience.

Looks like the Editor should review this brand again based on date of original review and more current customer reviews in 2019 and 2020. Looks as though there may have been a change in quality. Please keep abreast of the current status of the suppliers so those looking for new cabinetry can get the right information without having to lose confidence in the industry.

O.K. These reviews really concern me. We have cabinets on order from American Woodmark. The salesperson at Home Depot told us they were very good cabinets. You can be sure when they are delivered I will go through each box with a fine tooth comb, and if anything is amiss, they will make it right. If anything is amiss when they are installed or does not look right, American Woodmark will make it right. I hope I will not be sorry that I ordered these cabinets, but things do not sound good. I am very glad I clicked on this website because at least I know now that I will have to be on my guard with this company.

I must say that Mr. Wilson's comments are so biased. As you know cabinets may have always problems/ issues depends on manufacturer fault or wrong installation problem. However, it's a very low chance that happened. I have been using Kemper and Decora products years and install them - of course, we had problems but they replaced it or sent a new one. It should be that much easy to just say well this cabinets are the worst! I do recommend their products - because they give you option for furniture board to all plywood option, they give you options for stain to paint colors and 4 weeks lead time. I like the qulaity of their products as well.

We are having a similar expeience. The Diamond Rep came to our house to evaluate and said they would have a response later that afternoon. 5 days later and we are still waiting. It is very frustrating. I'd never recommend Diamond. Good luck to you!

kitchen remodel 5 years ago had issues with quality control on the cabinets from day one . At first I thought I was a lone wolf but now my cabinets look so bad. After talking with customer service I decided maybe I should do a review on these cabinets to my surprise !! I'm not the Lone Wolf . If you think of purchasing these cabinets do your review first don't wait 5 years and then have to replace your cabinets.

I wish I would have done my review before I purchased these cabinets your comments are absolutely correct in every way . If you're reading these reviews because you're thinking about buying one of their cabinets think twice before reaching to your wallet.

Remodeled our kitchen 2015 you're absolutely right, same kind of issues with the quality and the warranty not worth the price I wish I would have done my review before I purchase my cabinets.

this is not a new issue my cabinets were purchased in 2015 doesn't seem as if their quality control has NOT been improved. We have a long Pantry door in order to stop it from rattling when you close it I had to put cardboard behind it good quality wouldn't you agree.

Kitchen remodel 2015 I am so disappointed in these cabinets that I felt I had to write a review to let people know what they're about to get into. Jay's review is pretty damn accurate. (Finish), we had 6 cabinet doors 30 inch cabinet that had to be replaced because of the Finish . Made use of them, put them in the garage, garage grade yes.

(Durability) doors and drawers still function, the lower cabinets that sit on my hardwood floors a rotting away literally looks like hell . I have pictures which I will post at a later date. Do not use masking tape to on your cabinets to paint the wall the wood grain will be removed with the tape, Customer Service I used the wrong tape. (WARRANTY) service willing to listen but I doubt if they're going to do anything . Price not cheap but cheap product.

In planning the remodel of my kitchen and a bathroom, I wanted to order a sample of the cabinet finish so I can match, flooring, paint, tile, etc. to the cabinet color finish. Menards does not have any samples like this; they only have one sample per color for their own use with all the customers. How is a person supposed to plan the room and ensure all the colors blend correctly? So frustrating!

You are blaming the wrong people. Your dealer should have educated you that a solid wood door that is painted is going to eventually have a crack appearing where the door is put together.
This is your dealer’s fault for not educating their client.

I had a horrible experience with Omega! They were sold to me as the best cabinets & high quality! OMG 80% of my cabinets came in with bad finishes, warped doors, misaligned cabinets corners not meeting! What a mess! It has been 3 months & I still don’t have my kitchen together! Even the replacement parts are coming in wrong! My husband wanted to send the entire order back but we were convinced to let them replace the bad cabinets. The whole experience has been a disaster! Omega has no quality control & the customer service is the worst I have ever experienced! Home Depot & Hines sell these cabinets & I recommend if you do get these cabinets go through them @ least they are a big enough purchaser to get service & possible money back if the cabinets are not as good as promised. I wish I went to a different brand. I have done 6 kitchen & nevr paid so much for so little! Save your self the heartache go elsewhere! Don’t get Omega they are the worst!

same thing - all the paint chipped off within a few months of installing & moving in new. we were told it was our fault as the cabinet doors should not have gotten wet - these are sink bathroom cabinets. we expressly ordered them for a kids bathroom. absolutely the worst!

We install allot of Decora cabinets
The problem in most cases is the big Box store sales staff, they really do not no how to sell the product this is why Master brands the main company who owns Decora is pulling them out of the Big Box stores.

Door and drawer adjustments are normal installation items, they are only quickly set in the factory. All manufacture know that delivery, transport and the actual installation of the cabinets can offset alignment.

Decora uses top made Door hinges and Drawers tracks have several adjustment screws and dials on them to set them into alignment.

I would recommend steering away from these cabinets. They look wonderful upon installation, but a year later, excessive wear and tear begins to show. I would classify the finish as delicate. Also, color variations in the finish begin to show. Such variations cannot be classified as “character“. They look like two different cabinets.

We purchased Medallion Cabinets about eight years ago. The finish is wearing off. The seller sent someone over to touch up the cabinets. The same thing happened again. They blamed it on our fingernails! I have short fingernails. That should not be the problem. The finish is waring off in places that aren't touched. In my opinion, the finish is not the same as the in-store models.

We are going through the same thing. We paid extra and opted for the APC(All plywood construction). The cabinets came and multiple doors were damaged which wasnt a huge deal as they can replace the doors easily but the cabinets have MDF on the backs of the majority of them. Sloppy craftsmanship, areas not glued right and just so many things that quality assurance chose to not address and send out the door anyways. Kraftmaid rep is not helpful and Lowes offered a $500 refund but that doesnt fix any of the issues. 12 weeks wasted for nothing and now they are refusing to make them the way I paid for and it doesnt sound like they have any desire to refund me my money. I agree, Lowes and Kraftmaid are a bad combo.

I’m going thru dealing with Kraft Maid now and damaged discolored cabinets and doors. It’s holding up my kitchen remodel and I’m living without a kitchen. Home Depot did not assist in the least. Honesty I don’t understand how the doors I received ended up in boxes and shipped to a customer who paid big money for them. It’s outrageous!

I loved your letter because I purchased Wood Mode Brookhaven cabinetry as I remembered the advertisements from the 1970s. It was the only name I knew. My cabinets were installed in 2012, of course, too soon for them to show signs of failure. Brookhaven had many plus points offered: quiet close doors and drawers are standard; interior drawer features are available regardless of cabinet depth; the color block samples at the showroom were provided free to keep once I ordered the cabinets so I could carry them to the paint center and tile center.
As far as your cabinetry lasting, I believe a kitchen cabinetry should last 50 years ore more. My cupboard built with my house 1914 had one drawer failure in 2009. All i had to do was glue it back. If that cupboard could last that long so should quality cabinetry. I agree wholeheartedly with your letter.

I too had to replace multiple doors. I think the kiln drying process may be to blame. However, I never had any problem with getting replacements. KraftMaid was very good about it. Granted, the wait was a pain....but they did come through in the end.

I bought about 3 weeks ago some cabinets for my kitchen and I am very angry because the cabinets that they offered me weren't what i received and i payed $5,300 just for very cheap cabinets because actually they probably are $1,500 for the real price because the cabinets are made of ground sawdust from the inside and the person and the company that sold them to me promised that they were going to be made out of real wood not some chap cabinets my kitchen has only 12 little cabinets and it isn't really fair that you have done that to me

Sadly, our recent experiences with Wood-Mode are consistent with this review. Our order was also riddled with excessive errors, creating additional inconvenience and project costs. Unfortunately, our Wood-Mode kitchen cabinet order was not completed accurately until March 2019, five months after installation began. In two previous home renovations, not one problem with Wood-Mode cabinet orders or installation. As a result, we were unaware that there is zero customer service at Wood-Mode. This time, more than 1/3 of our kitchen cabinets were built in error or missing. Distributor blamed Wood-Mode for complicated ordering and production processes. Regardless of the source of the errors, Wood-Mode made no effort to quickly rectify the problems when contacted by the distributor. Regional rep was also ineffective in expediting re-orders. WM never reached out to us and did not respond to telephone calls or a letter FedExed to HQ. Took nearly five months to complete installation - some cabinets were built wrong twice! Particularly distressing was that the distributor had required payment in full for cabinets prior to installation, so we had no leverage and neither distributor nor WM had an incentive to complete the order. There are many excellent custom cabinet makers with a comparable product at a lower price point - we should have read recent reviews before loyally ordering Wood-Mode for the third time.

I’m trying to find the relevance of your “review”. You lost me at “after speaking to the black lady”. Not surprised she didn’t want to help you.

I am sorry you have been treated so poorly. I too am having problems with a different manufacturer. KCMA CERTIFICATION means nothing. their board members are made up of the cabinet makers they claim to hold to a standard, I would like to know when the last time anyone evaluated any of their members to ensure standard is maintained. Call your state representative, send a complaint to your state attorney general. They have forms you can download. I am looking into the FTC to see if they might be a resource for help. Make sure to mention this greasy KCMA. Also go to KCMA website and watch the video on cabinet standards. It may give you more leverage. I might start a petition to make cabinet makers more transparent in what they are actually selling. They sat wood cabinetry, but that means particle board, ply wood, or any other material made of wood. I have been hard pressed to find a true independent cabinet maker. I do have someone who has been enlightening me to some of the scams perpetrated on hard working Americans.

Mine were just delivered and my contractor has halted installation, because they are all damaged in one way or another. They are terrible, I’m sick to my stomach. Purchased from ProSource. They’re way too expensive to be this bad.

YOUR TIMELINE SAYS:
June 9 finalized kitchen and waited on door sample to approve glaze color
June 21 wrong sample arrived
June 26 wrong sample arrived again
July 3 asked to sign order to avoid losing sale
July 19 sample finally arrived, but we had driven to another store to see a sample
Aug 14 were told to get granite removed so installers could begin Aug 24
Aug 17 cabinets delivered
Aug 23 installers called and canceled
Aug 24 we complained and installers rescheduled for Aug 27
Aug 27 installers said most base cabinets damaged, fluted fillers wrong size.

**My question is, why did you wait until August 27th to finally unbox and inspect? Had this been done 2 weeks prior to the installers, you could have saved yourself and the installers a headache. Sounds to me like poor planning on your part.

Terrible product! I have a warped drawe, terrible finish and the inserts move on my mid grade maple. The most exspensive line I purchased are ok. My friend bought hickory and the door split in half! I would Never buy this product again. They were not cheap

I would never buy this product again! I bought mid grade and upper end maple. Mid grade drawer warped, inserts move and my friend bought upper grade hickory and door split in half. We are the only people that live in our homes, are not hard on things and take care of our homes. These are not cheap.. I would NEVR purchase them again as they do not stand by their workmanship!!!

I am waiting for my 2nd replacement of doors in less than 5 years. And that's only because I waited 3 years to pursue further replacement after the 1st replacement set started turning yellow. Mainly in hopes they would realize they had a defective product and would change their way of making these doors. But now I'm told within 6 months, they'll be discontinuing the color I have (I think it's Canvas). Now my cabinet guy had to mail KM 2 of my doors and they will test them to see if it's something in my house causing this. I know it isn't. Not very happy! Did you ever get a resolution from KM?

I an considering these cabinets for my small kitchen. How much (roundabout) was it to do your kitchen? I am trying to budget $5K to do the job.

We were also about to place an order with Prosource.. that is, until we saw all these reviews.. our designer has been wonderful, I was planning to do most of the install myself.. but the has us concerned..
We've spent hours with the designer working on the plans.. it's depressing, but we're on hold trying to figure out if we should move forward w/this company.

Diamond cabinets SUCK, that should tell you everything you need to know. DO NOT BUY DIAMOND CABINETS!
Ordered cabinets from Lowes in March 2018, arrived in May. The finish on cabinet doors and drawer fronts were terrible, had Diamond rep come to my house to inspect finish. Long long story short, just received the last 4 door fronts Thursday January 10 2019, still waiting for drawer fronts.

Do you know if you ordered your cabinets with particle board as opposed to solid wood construction? We have a quote for Kemper cabinets from Prosource right now and there are two choices. We have chosen solid wood cabinets which is a step up from the particle board construction. We have not placed our order yet as I am reading reviews that have me concerned. It is my understanding all brands make different levels of cabinets. We think we are ordering their higher end. But would love to hear what you have to say as we too have a nice home that we want to make sure we select the right cabinets.

Did you ever get this resolved? We are having the same issue right now, down to the timing and the required time off we took to install everything. Wondering if we can just return the whole order and go with kraftmaid instead.

I have worked with Aristokraft cabinets for over 30 years. Quality finish and workmanship is superior to comparable brands. My judgement is based on thousands of cabinets that I have handled. Your comment is based on one cabinet? How unfair.

should be glad your made it that long. Please feel free to come see my cabinets at 16 months! Can not even use slide outs cause they fell off track and do not slide any more.

I’ve also had issues with my cabinets. The first set cane chipped on the sides. I sent the island ones back but not the ones to hang up as I can hide the defects mostly. The lower cabinets doors, drawers, etc have had iss yes with the paint falling off within the first few months. I contacted my rep and got several paint kits to take care of this. The problem is the paint kits are not helpful at all. I asked to have the salesperson come over to see the damage and help with the paint kit-nothing!
The joints (seams) where the doors meet are the worst. The paint there rises up and falls off. The door to my garbage section is losing paint near the joints also. I’ve never been more disappointed with these. This has been ongoing from the first few months and it’s now been two years. What was exciting to me was so disappointing. I was told that these were good cabinets and had a good track record. Not so! The rep would give me a discount if I wanted to buy replacement doors. Laugh out loud! Stay away from these cabinets.

We as well have the white chocolate finish. It started almost immediately having problems and I was sent a paint kit many times. The paint touch up kit doesn’t work well at all. I’ve been very disappointed with these cabinets. My 45 year old Haas cabinets were better.

Hi, I also pull my trigger to go with Lowe's on Diamond prelude series. I spent much time on their website and their spec, i picked the sizes of all the cabinets too. I am wondering why would everybody said the quality is bad while they offer limited life-time warranty. I watched their marketing video which are very impressive. I don't mean you were not telling the truth, but I wish Diamond cabinets are not that bad. Thanks.

First of all there are so many things wrong with your review that it really should be omitted. So you spoke to "the black lady" Is there only one? wtf What does the fact that this person was black, or a lady have to to with ANYTHING? Also, what Livonia, MI store did you go to??? Lowes, Home Depot, etc...I guarantee Merillat doesn't have a store. Your "review" of Merillat is actually a review of how ignorant YOU are!

2 different builders and they both used Aristokraft. White the first time, total disaster... poor quality and finish, for the upgraded cabinets we chose. They will need to be repainted by the new owner... always felt like they should have been painted since the first day we moved in. Current home has upgraded mocha and installers left adhesive on most of the lower cabinets, someone attempted to move some adhesive with a material that scratched the surface in several areas. All cabinets are sticking after only being in the home for 5 months... never ever will I opt for this cabinent maker. There are too many other choices on the market.
